Lofitorsk AS strive to be the leading supplier of high quality juvenile and grower cod. This will emerge from continuously developing our nature based intensive concept of production. Through developing Lofitorsk AS, Storfjord Torsk AS and Lofilab AS has increased the capacity on respectively grower and juvenile cod. The production base in Storfjord will expand due to the raised production of juveniles at Steine. Furthermore, our vision for the period 2007- 2012 enables us to produce 2.5 million entities. Business idea Lofitorsk AS aims to develop a model of production that is cost efficient and integrated. We enclose the entire chain of nourishment, from brood stock to juvenile, on to grower fish and accomplished product. Strategy Lofitorsk AS embrases the advantages that lies in our locations. The Vestfjord basin delivers an optimal blooming of natural plancton in the season, when light and temperature allows it. This provides us with high quality start feed for our marine fish. Lofitorsk AS strives to expand the production base that Lofilab AS has developed through a period of 10 years. The production of natural plancton suffers from fluctuation, based on light and weather. To ensure ourselves from this variation, we have developed solid competence in the field of rotifer production. Future visions In the future, Lofitorsk AS has the ambition to expand the production base, making it the most cost efficient model for cod farming in the market. We will exploit the advantages that nature provides for us, in addition to developing our intensive production of juveniles. Allready Lofitorsk AS holds a leading position in the industry, and we are still growing. Within a period of 3 years investments will be made, and our capacity to satisfy the market will increase even more. |
